when you find a solution to this let me know as well. Though I have a problem with the links going bye bye after a few months on news sites too.

ever thought about making a yahoo! pipes or dapper application?
pipes is more powerful, but dapper has a native iCal export feature.

Actually I found out that 30boxes can import RSS feeds - since I'm at work can't try it yet - but I'm going to attempt tonight to sync from 30boxes to outllok and then full sync from outlook to google calender.
Not pretty but functional - will update if it works
